RNDr. Bohumil FRANTÁL

He has been working as a scientific worker at the Institute of Geonics, Academy of Sciences of the Czech Republic, Department of Environmental Geography in Brno since 2002. In his research he focuses on the issues of social conflicts in the context of land use, Perception of environmental risks, regional and local identity processes, quality of life and spatial models of behaviour. He also works as an external lecturer at the Geographical Institute, Faculty of Science, Masaryk University in Brno.

Bohumil Frantál is a project leader and coordinator of all key activities; he guarantees scientific standards of the project. He is responsible for the realization of all research activities, organization of thematic conferences and workshops, and manages the logistics of educational activities, trainings and interships of academic workers. Methodically he coordinates the participation of students of cooperating universities in the project research activities.

Mgr. Stanislav MARTINÁT

He has been working as a scientific worker at the Institute of Geonics, Academy of Sciences of the Czech Republic, Department of Environmental Geography in Ostrava since 2002. He is a specialist in rural geography and geography of agriculture, with a special emphasis on a spatial differentiation and structural changes of the current agricultural production, organic farming, growing of energy crops, and impacts of these activities on local development.

Stanislav Martinát is member of the project team. Together with managers of specific key activities and with the foreign expert he forms the management of a project team. Methodically he supervises the administration of the project; he participates in research activities, actively present project results on conferences and seminaries and participates on the organization of conferences and workshops.

Drs. Dan VAN DER HORST, PhD.

Dan Van der Horst is an environmental social scientist with a track record in interdisciplinary research. His expertise lies in natural resource management, focusing especially on sustainable (multi-functional) land use policy and the social aspects of renewable energy technologies. He has experience in the role of research outside academia, and has worked in environmental consultancy, in the water industry, and in government. To date, Dan has (co-)authored 40 publications, his work has been cited >150 times and he has been supervising 8 PhD students (2 completed).

Within the project he guarantees and methodically coordinates the realization of field research in Great Britain, he participates in scientific conferences and workshops, interships of academic workers, and cooperates on common publication activities.

RNDr. Tatiana MINTÁLOVÁ, Ph.D

She is an assistant professor at the Department of Geography, Faculty of Sciences, Palacký University in Olomouc. In her research she deals with the issues of sustainable development of rural areas and impacts of the energy productive agriculture on local development.

Tatiana Mintálová is the main guarantee of all activities on behalf of the Palacký University in Olomouc (as the partnership organization). She coordinates the participation of students in project research activities and supervises the elaboration of students´ diploma theses on issues referring to the project topic. She also participates in other activities including field research, active presentation of project results on conferences and workshops, and the organization of scientific gatherings.

RNDr. Josef KUNC, Ph.D

He is an assistant professor at the Department of Regional Economics and Administration, Faculty of Economics and Administration, Masaryk University in Brno and a scientific worker at the Institute of Geonics, Academy of Sciences of the Czech Republic, Department of Environmental Geography. In his research he focuses on the problems of industrial innovations, industrial zones and brownfields from the social-cultural, economic and spatial perspective, on tourism, daily urban systems and daily mobility, and various issues concerning the relations among industries (incl. tourism), energy sources and landscapes.

Josef Kunc is responsible for the realization of specific field research, provision of relevant databases, and coordination of students´ activities participating on a research.

Mgr. Petr DVOŘÁK, Ph.D

He is a scientific worker at the Institute of Geonics, Academy of Sciences of the Czech Republic, Department of Environmental Geography in Ostrava. In his research he focuses on the development and changes of cultural landscapes, studies and methods of assessing the anthropogenic impacts on a landscape. He also works as an external lecturer at the Department of social geography and regional development, Faculty of Science, University of Ostrava.

Within the project Petr Dvořák works as a scientific worker, he participates on realization of field research, organization of workshops and thematic conferences. He also manages the logistics of educational courses and trainings of academic workers.

Mgr. Petr KLUSÁČEK, Ph.D.

He is a scientific worker at the Institute of Geonics, Academy of Sciences of the Czech Republic, Department of Environmental Geography in Brno. In his research he deals with a wide spectrum of problems relating the structural and functional changes of urban systems in the Czech Republic (e.g. revitalization of brownfields, demographic changes, gentrification, etc.). He also works as a lecturer at the Faculty of regional development and international studies, Mendel University, in Brno.

Petr Klusáček is a part of a scientific team of the project, he is responsible for specific field research activities (e.g. potential of brownfields revitalization for renewable energy development, spatial targeting of nuclear waste deposits, environmental risk perception, etc.). He will present research results on conferences and workshops, and will cooperate on common publication activities.

Mgr. Stanislav CETKOVSKÝ

He is a scientific worker at the Institute of Geonics, Academy of Sciences of the Czech Republic, Department of Environmental Geography in Brno. In his research he deals with the problems of landscape ecology with a special emphasis on the environmental impact assessment and environmental aspects of the energy industry development. He also works a specialist for environmental impact assessment for the Ventural Company and as an external lecturer at the Geographical Institute, Faculty of Science, Masaryk University in Brno.

Stanislav Cetkovský will participate on field research activities, will actively present project results on thematic conferences and workshops, and will take trainings in project management.

Mgr. Eva NOVÁKOVÁ

She is a scientific worker at the Institute of Geonics, Academy of Sciences of the Czech Republic, Department of Environmental Geography in Brno. She is a specialist in processing, analyzing and visualization of spatial data in 2D and 3D by means of GIS and thematic cartography.

Within the project she will focus on geographic information systems as a tool of analyses and cartographic visualization of spatial data. She will participate in field research activities, present results on conferences and workshops and cooperate on common publications. She also guarantees the service of technical equipments, publication of project outputs through web pages, and she provides database services.

Dita GLOCOVÁ

Dita Glocová is a project manager and part of the administrative staff. She is responsible for the administrative support of a research team; she supervises formal essentials of the project to be in accordance with program documents, and prepares source materials for monitoring reports.
